Address
34-36 Howard Drive Penneshaw, SA 5222
From the ferry please drive towards Kingscote. Travel 850 metres and you will see 3 units on your right. 36 Howard Drive is the third one heading towards Kingscote and 34 Howard Drive is the middle apartment.
Please park on Howard Drive at the back of the unit and make your way through the gate and down the path. You will see a blue door at the back of the house.
Keys
Penneshaw Oceanview Apartments have a digital door lock, so once you have the four-digit combination, you follow these procedures.
Touch full screen lock with palm of fingers to activate.
Enter the User PIN code advised
Complete your verification with a palm or selecting the unlock icon on the screen
Unlock by rotating knob to right.
The door will not lock by itself, so you must always lock it when leaving. If you’re locked out or forget the combination to the apartment, do not hesitate to call me at 0413 800 209 or Sheena on 0438 810 565.
Check In/Out
Check-in time is at 2 p.m. and checkout time is at 10 a.m.
Kitchen and Kitchenette
You’re a welcome guest. Enjoy yourself! Please feel free to enjoy the kitchen. All amenities are here for your enjoyment and use. The kitchen upstairs is very well appointed with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and plastic wear. We even have an electric Pizza maker for your enjoyment. If you have any special request please feel free to ask and we will try to accommodate. Rinsing off dishes, disposing of trash, and cleaning up any little spills or accidents is always appreciated.
Oven and Hotplates
To operate the oven and hotplates please turn switch on above the hotplates.
Dishwasher
Our unit is supplied with two dishwashers. The operating manual is in the cupboard above the upstairs fridge. A supply of dishwasher powder can be found underneath the sink in the upstairs kitchen. More powder can be supplied on request. Please leave dishwasher empty and door slightly ajar prior to your departure.
Bathrooms
The bathrooms have a few toiletry essentials in case you left yours at home. Please feel free to use them. We provide soap, shampoo, conditioner and bath gel for your stay. There is a luxurious deep bath in the downstairs bathroom which I am sure you will enjoy.
Air Conditioning
AC for the apartment is in the living area upstairs and downstairs. Feel free to use it throughout your stay. I recommend turning them off when you leave and back on when you return. The rooms cool and heat quickly and that is the green way to go. The remote for the air conditioners are located on the kitchen wall in both the downstairs and upstairs living areas.
Restful Sleep
Penneshaw Oceanview Apartments are designed for restful sleep. We have set up the sleeping accommodations exactly the way we have them in our own home. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, awesome linens, and a various size beds for optimal comfort. Please turn down your TV or music by 11 p.m. so as not to disturb neighbours.
Operating the Flat-Screen TVs
Since we are a modern society, the TV is all digital. There is DVD/Blu-ray recorder/player upstairs. You are welcome to bring your own DVD’s/Blu-ray movies or we have a small supply in the unit (mostly older DVD’s). Please turn on the TV with the larger remote, switch to AV /HDMI and operate the TV/DVD player with the smaller remote. Instructions are in the drawer under the TV. There is also a Flat Screen TV downstairs for your enjoyment.
Housekeeping
Our apartment is fully self-contained. The washing of dishes and disposal of rubbish from the apartment is the guest’s responsibility. Extra cleaning charges may apply to guests if the apartment is left in an unacceptable condition. If extra quilt, sheets or towels are required please contact me or Sheena.
Inventory
The apartment’s inventory is checked prior to your arrival. Please report any faulty or damaged equipment to either me or Sheena so that it can be rectified.
Whilst at Penneshaw Oceanview Apartments, the contents of the apartment are your responsibility. Management reserves the right to charge for any missing, damaged or misused items.
Laundry
Our apartment has a washing machine and dryer. Instructions can be found in the top cupboard upstairs above the fridge. A small amount of washing powder is supplied. Please ensure no laundry or towels are placed over the balcony. There is a clothes airer located in cupboard/room next to kitchenette downstairs.
Incidentals
A complimentary supply of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and toiletries are supplied on your arrival. Please purchase any additional supplies from IGA in Penneshaw.
Rubbish Collection
If you happen to be at the apartment on Thursday night, please put rubbish bins out on Thursday night ready for Friday morning collection.
Fishing
We have supplied fishing rods and tackle for your convenience. Please keep the rods and tackle in good order for the next guest. We would appreciate guests replacing any tackle used or lost. We have also included fishing information for Kangaroo Island.
Travel Insurance
When booking your ferry and accommodation we recommend taking out travel insurance to cover you for ferry cancellations due to bad weather.

We love this restaurant and so do others. This is a review from their Facebook page. "Very good restaurant with ocean views. Delicious food, we liked everything, I've had the best barramundi ever!. The owner is very nice n friendly. Must add their homemade desserts are luxurious". This is an upmarket restaurant with quality food.

Sorrento's Pizzeria
8 North Terrace, Penneshaw
Terrific views across to the mainland from out front of Sorrento. Sometimes you are lucky enough to watch dolphins play in the bay. There is genuinely good pizza, freshly prepared and with high quality ingredients.
They are a licensed venue so feel free to enjoy a beer or wine whilst you are waiting for your take-away or sample a local bottle of wine over dinner!

Tourist Information
Our apartment is located directly opposite the Kangaroo Island Gateway Visitor Information Centre. Please feel free to walk across and speak to the friendly staff so they can help you get the best from your KI experience. The centre even sells some local produce ready for you to enjoy during your stay. Why not buy some local honey and other produce.
Adventures and Local Attractions
Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari offer a wildlife journey which departs from Christmas Cove Marina metres from our apartment.
They offer safaris where you will witness dolphins, seals, birdlife, eagles, whales (when in season) and magnificent coastline.

Fishing or marine exploring
If you are a fisherman or a marine explorer, the boat ramp is a few metres from the unit.
There are also various fishing charters operating from the marina.
Whales and dolphins
Whales visit the waters of Kangaroo Island annually and have been sighted from Christmas Cove properties between the months of May and September. Dolphins are in the area all year around.
Penguins
Penneshaw Penguin Centre.
The centre conducts penguin tours every night of the year, except Christmas Day and during February, when the penguins are all at sea.
